Nextbook Seattle is a project of Nextbook, the Seattle Public Library, and the Jewish Studies Program of the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington.

The Seattle Public Library strives to inform, enrich, and empower every person in the community by providing easy access to a vast array of ideas and information, and promoting lifelong learning and a love of reading. The Seattle Public Library acquires, organizes, and makes available books and other relevant materials; ensures access to information sources throughout the nation and around the world; serves the public with expert and caring assistance; and reaches out to all members of the community. The Seattle Public Library includes 25 neighborhood branches and the Central Library designed by OMA/LMN Architects.

The Jewish Studies Program (JSP) at the University of Washington is the premier center for Jewish Studies scholarship in the Pacific Northwest, with an internationally recognized faculty producing innovative scholarship that examines Jewish life in its cultural, intellectual, religious, and international contexts. Its courses reach many hundreds of students annually; it offers lectures on campus that are free and open to the public; and it works with community organizations to present programs off campus. Through the UW's Access program, the JSP welcomes community members age 60 and over to audit its classes.
